TO OUR 2015 GOLF SPONSORS, GOLFERS, PRIZE DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS,

Thank you for supporting our 8th Annual Treasure Life Golf Classic held in Beaumont on May 29, 2015. With the help of our valued sponsors, we raised over $36,000. Your generosity inspires us and enables us to GIVE THE GIFT OF HELPING CARDIAC CHILDREN. We’re excited to inform you the money is already being invested in state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and program support for young heart patients at Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.

Treasure life has just made an $80,000 donation to purchase a portable diagnostic machine that cardiologists will use on their many visits to outreach clinics throughout Alberta. For the first time, cardiologists can look inside the heart, with the benefit of 4D imaging in full color, and make an instant diagnosis which can then lead to quicker treatments and corrective surgeries. The advanced medical tool was on the Stollery’s high priority list this year.

There is no cure for heart disease; however, vast improvements have been made in the way this disease is treated. By creating an innovative partnership with the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation we are thrilled to support cutting edge approaches to manage the disease. A portion of the golf tournament contribution goes toward our funding commitment of at least $30,000 per year for our very popular and ever growing Treasure Bead Program at Stollery Children’s Hospital. This program is available to ALL hospital children and is delivered by our Bead Keepers four times per week. Children collect a unique bead for every medical procedure they endure and hereby build their own treasure chain. They have the ability to visually track their medical journey and share their experiences in a positive, open manner.

Treasure Life has also pledged $20,000 toward research and the purchase of simple, yet vital monitoring tools such as oximeters (measures blood oxygen levels), coaguchek machines (measures blood thickness), and stethoscopes, so cardiac children can return home sooner after their procedures. We have also gifted $18,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to send cardiac children on the trip of their dreams.

This brings our total contributions to date to nearly $293,000. Bravo! The reality is that by supporting these special children you are helping them to live longer and fuller lives. On behalf of our board of directors and valuable volunteers - thank you for your unwavering support.

Sincerely, Charlene Jenkins - President Evan Ty Jenkins Pediatric Research Foundation
