Why support Treasure Life?

The Evan Ty Jenkins Pediatric Research Foundation operating as Treasure Life strives to expand its programs and offerings to the community as it has done in the past 8 years. We hope that you will be able to take part in one or more of the many exciting events that we are offering this year and experience firsthand the pride we take in supporting our cause.

It is our mission to treasure cardiac children and support their journey through research, education and stroke prevention. In order to meet our mission and provide services in our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support. Without the assistance of community-minded individuals just like you, we wouldn't be able to serve those in our community each year.

We ask that you make a commitment to support our request by making a donation. We have several ways you can help, and we hope that your organization will be able to make a contribution. Your generosity will make a difference in our community by allowing us to continue in our work. Through the years, we've made remarkable progress in the battle to help improve the lives of children with congenital or acquired heart disease. Yet for all our accomplishments, there is more that needs to be done.

Every child deserves a chance at a life filled with love, laughter, friends and family. We are working to help fund vital medical equipment and implement programs that will give them a fighting chance. Remember that every donation makes a difference, regardless of size. Thank you in advance for your support!

Why support Treasure Life?

The support of caring people like you helps Treasure Life continue its mission of supporting children. The Evan Ty Jenkins Pediatric Research Foundation began in 2006 in memory of Evan to help all children and families affected by heart disease and/or stroke.

How do your donations help make a difference for children with cardiac conditions? With your help we can:

• fund research

• purchase equipment for children to use at home

• purchase vital diagnostic equipment

• fund the Treasure Bead and Treasure Log Programs

• fund education and awareness initiatives

Some examples of your gift in action:

$25

With your donation you can assist us in providing a Treasure Log/activity book for children and teens. Children who come to Stollery for treatment need some creative diversion from their medical treatments and sometimes lengthy hospital stays. These books have lots of fun activities and come complete with colored pencils, pens and stickers.

$50

A child’s treasure bead necklace! Each time a patient undergoes a medical procedure, such as a needle, blood test or CT scan, the child receives a bead. Together, the beads provide kids with an avenue to talk about their treatments and what they are going through.

$500 to $1000

Families sometimes need specialized medical equipment in order to care for children at home Your donation could fund an INR machine that will monitor the thickness or thinness of a child’s blood thus helping to reduce the incidence of stroke. Oximeters are needed to monitor oxygen saturation and are often required by children with corrected or waiting for correction heart conditions. Other examples include blood pressure monitors, baby weigh scales and 24 hour heart monitors.

$2000 and over

Funding new technologies at the UHF and Stollery Children’s Hospital helps to ensure vital diagnostic equipment is available for cardiology staff. Yearly contributions are made for this purpose.
